This is the ultimate falconry experience in Scotland. Get hands on with these fantastic and rare raptors in this fascinating, 2.5 hour experience and experience both Owls and Raptors including Hawks, Buzzard or Kestrels flying at close proximity. 

Your experience will start with a short presentation on the history of falconry, exploring the different types of birds used in falconry and their individual characteristics. You’ll then be introduced to those exceptional birds of prey and see for yourself the beauty and power that these birds have at a talons length.

Then you will venture into the large clearing in the woods that surround Dalhousie Castle where you will handle and fly various species of birds of prey including the hawk, owl and buzzard. The experienced falconer will then demonstrate the breath taking agility and speed of the birds.

This is a hands on experience, where all equipment and training is provided and handling is done under supervision from our professional falconers.

Throughout the experience the master falconers will ensure your enjoyment, talking you through what is happening, telling you about each birds unique personality and answering any questions you have.

The falconry centre is situated within the historic Dalhousie Castle estate in Midlothian. It offers fantastic accommodation for the birds and lots of open space in mature woodland to allow them to fly, giving visitors the ultimate experience.

The setup is designed to cater for small groups so as to give you a more personal experience with the birds.
