Full Day Catamaran Sailing Experience for two from Port Edgar

• A full day sailing experience including a stop for lunch

This is a fantastic half day sailing experience on the River Forth and the only one like it on the east coast. You’ll be boarding a luxury sailing catamaran at Port Edgar Marina in South Queensferry for an adventurous voyage of discovery.

At the start of the journey you’ll be introduced to your RYA qualified yachtmaster for the 8 hour voyage. Boarding the boat you’ll meet the other guests and take your seats.

Departing the port the sails will be hoisted and you’ll experience the majestic feeling of sailing across the water.

As you sail out under the Queensferry Crossing and up river past Rosyth Naval Dockyard with fantastic views of this busy port. Then you’ll sail underneath the three bridges. Marvel at the UNESCO world heritage site at the Forth Rail Bridge, considered to be one of the engineering wonders of the world. Sail underneath as trains travel overhead and awe at its huge cantilever design.

Then you’ll head down river past Inchgarvie and the historic Inchcolm island. You’ll see the Abbey and monastery on this religious isle. Then we continue past Inchmickery before routing towards either the island of Inchkeith where we anchor for lunch or one of the fishing harbours along the fife coast.

Wind and tide influence the exact route but you are guaranteed a view of the coast on both sides of the river like no other.

The experience is as hands on as you would like, assisting the crew. You’re welcome to take the helm and control the boat under the guidance of the skipper.  Learn about the rigging, control the direction of travel and experience how to tack and navigate through the wind, sea and other marine traffic. Or, if you’d prefer just sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery and wildlife.

This large luxury catamaran offers comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy the voyage. Catamarans are known to have much better sea keeping capabilities allowing you to have a much smoother trip across the water.

Tea, Coffee and bottled water are served onboard and life jackets are provided. Lunch is not included and it is recommended you bring lunch if you are anchoring at Inchkeith.
