This haunted experience is not for the faint hearted! After dark you’ll embark on a journey through the paranormal underworld of Edinburgh’s old town as you venture through 500 years of history, crime and murder!

After joining the tour at the Royal Mile meeting point, your ghoulish tour guide will take you on a historical journey through Auld Reekie’s past.

Down one of Edinburgh’s many dark closes, the tour arrives at what seems like a normal door. Venturing through it you’ll enter the infamous South Bridge vaults. Hear tales of how the poor and unfortunate lived in these former slums. Explore these dimly lit vaults, once the haunt of criminals, body snatchers and witches alike! Dating back to the 1700s there is a lot of history down there, not all of which can be explained.

Each vault has stories of crime, disease and death with which your guide shall enlighten you with all the gory details. You will see a genuine witchcraft temple, recently used by the “Source Coven of the Blue Dragon” and you will enter their former temple. Learn why it was no longer safe for them to practise their craft in that vault. Dare you step inside the infamous stone circle?

The atmosphere underground is chillingly tense, just as it was all those years ago. At the end of the tour you’ll arrive back at street level. At 11.15pm there are many dark corners around the Royal Mile. Can there be any more unexplained phenomenon lurking round the next corner?
