At the start of the experience you’ll arrive at the safari lodge just outside Aberfeldy where you will meet your guide and sign in for the journey ahead.

Armed with cameras and binoculars, climb aboard a Land Rover or Pinzgauer and get ready to venture to the high tops of the Perthshire highlands. Driving through a landscape sculptured by the elements and steeped in history, nature, and breathtaking views with no shortage of photo opportunities, you’ll find yourself 1,000 feet above the valley floor with commanding views for miles around.

You may even be lucky enough to see the Majestic Red Deer, the Famous Grouse, the elusive Mountain Hare or the soaring Golden Eagle as you travel through forests, mountains and moors on private hill tracks. This Safari will inspire you with an insight into this magnificent natural wilderness and leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

Included in the Mountain Safari Trek is a delicious ‘Ghillies Picnic’ freshly prepared at the safari lodge with homemade soup, filled rolls, crisps, traybakes, fruit, tea, coffee, and a dram of Dewars Whisky. Enjoy the picnic in a mountain-top Bothy, surrounded on all sides by inspiring mountain views.

The vehicles

The safari experience takes place in either a 4×4 Land Rover Defender or 6×6 Pinzgauer all terrain vehicle. They have been specifically chosen for their off-roading capabilities and make climbing through the Perthshire mountains a breeze.
